Frequently asked questions
Will you replace the battery if it fails the test?
Battery replacement is a separate booking — we'll quote it on the spot if the test fails, and you can decide whether to schedule that follow-up through Road Ally or your own shop.
Is this just a voltage reading?
No. Voltage alone is misleading on modern batteries. We use a real conductance / load tester that gives actual CCA, internal resistance, and state-of-health numbers.
Can you test EV traction batteries?
Not today — this service tests the 12V auxiliary battery only. Traction-battery diagnostics need OEM tooling that we don't carry mobile.
How long does the test take?
About 15–25 minutes including the alternator test. Bring the keys.
